Thinking About Privacy, Consent, and Open Copyright

This week I learned about privacy, consent, and open copyright. Before this course, I never thought much about these topics. I used to grab images from Google without checking who owned them. Now I see how common that is, and how risky it can be.

I also learned the difference between what is legal and what is ethical. Just because something is public does not mean we should use it. Consent is more than a legal step, it is also about respect.

Creative Commons licenses stood out for me. They let creators say how their work can be used. This helps sharing while still giving credit. I have used open textbooks before, but never thought about the license behind them.

This week made me think more about work done online. With this blog I am now a creator, not only a user. I need to choose how my work is shared, and I must give proper credit to others.

Question for the others:
When you post online, do you think about copyright, or do you just share?
