Assignment 2: AI and Personalized Learning — Video Presentation
Video Summary
My video explains how AI tools support personal learning. I show how they help students and why privacy and fairness matter. I also explain why teachers still guide the learning process.
I chose this topic because I use AI often as a student. I use it for writing, math help and translations. I wanted to learn the good side of AI and also the risks.
Personal learning means meeting the needs of each student. Each student learns in a different way. Some need more time. Some need more examples. AI tools can react to student work in real time. They can notice patterns and help when students get stuck. They also help students who study alone or outside office hours.
AI gives quick feedback. It can point out mistakes, explain ideas and save time. Many students use tools like Grammarly, ChatGPT or translators. These tools help, but they can also make students depend on them too much.
Privacy is a main concern. AI tools collect data like keystrokes, time on tasks and location. Many students do not know how much data is taken or who sees it. In Week 2, we learned that some data may be legal to collect but not moral to use. This changed how I see privacy. Privacy is also about trust and respect between students and teachers.
I also talk about bias. AI learns from data. If the data has bias, the AI repeats it. This can affect feedback and suggestions. It can also treat some students in unfair ways. In this course, we learned why fairness matters and why teachers must check AI results.
Teachers still guide the learning process. They understand emotion, context and personal needs. AI cannot do that. Teachers choose when AI helps and when it does not. This keeps learning safe and human.
Reflection
This project changed how I see AI in school. I use AI every day, but I never asked what happens to my data. Now I see why privacy, consent and fairness matter.
I learned how easy it is to depend on AI without thinking. This project made me more aware of how AI shapes learning. It showed me the limits of AI and why teachers still matter. I also learned more about myself as a learner and how I use tech.
This was a useful experience. It helped me think about the role of AI in school and how to use it with care.
